What can be a brilliant solution, in the middle of a Lockdown, when you rented an unfurnished house and have only three days to move in, with furniture shops closed and even the beloved Ikea struggling to deliver? Buying on Amazon, of course! This is what we did, managing to receive at least a bed and a table in the first couple of days and filling up the house of cartons, tools, and screws in the following ten. What impressed us more was the number of boxes containing only one part of the same furniture arriving on different days. We often had to wait for the full delivery to start mounting, with comic implications. Now we are finally seeing the end of it, and we can sit on our weird couch, proud, among others, of the immense collection of Allen Keys. It’s time to compliment ourselves for the resilience, and the ability indeed, in having received a house in a box and having mounted it screw after screw in no time!

ITALIAN – Casa in Scatola

Quale può essere una soluzione brillante, in pieno Lockdown, se hai affittato una casa non ammobiliata e hai solo tre giorni per trasferirti, coi negozi chiusi e persino l’amata Ikea che fatica a consegnare? Comprare tutto su Amazon, ovviamente! È quello che abbiamo fatto, riuscendo a ricevere almeno un letto e un tavolo entro i primi due giorni e riempiendo la casa di cartoni, attrezzi e viti nei successivi dieci. Ciò che ci ha più colpito è stato il numero di scatole contenenti ciascuna una sola parte dello stesso mobile che arrivavano in giorni diversi. Ci è toccato spesso attendere l’intera consegna prima di iniziare a montare, con non poche implicazioni comiche. Adesso che ne stiamo finalmente venendo fuori, possiamo sederci sul nostro strano divano orgogliosi, tra l’altro, dell’immensa collezione di brugole. È il momento di complimentarci con noi stessi per la resilienza, e senza dubbio abilità, nell’aver ricevuto una casa in scatola e averla montata vite per vite in tempo record!
